Every day repeated applications are made by private sector organisations to local authorities (and many other public bodies such as Housing Associations) seeking admission to what is generally termed as an approved list. For both the private sector and the local authorities this involves duplication of effort in completing Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ) and carrying out an assessment and evaluation of the information provided. Underpinning e-ApprovedLists online scheme is the logic that there should be a single PQQ and its assessment for approved list status should be acceptable by all participating organisations in the scheme.

Applications to join the approved list have been accepted since Monday 21 June 2004, through the application pages of this website (on-line applications only). It is expected that the Approved List will become active from late summer 2005, following a period of assessment. Organisations that satisfy certain basic criteria will be approved on a timely basis. The list will be for a four-year period, and will be limited in size.

For this phase, applications are sought from suitably qualified contractors and services providers covering the following general areas of work (the full list will appear on the front page of the application form)-

  • Environmental services (inc. pest control, demolition, treatments (eg: legionella) cleaning etc
  • Highways and civil engineering
  • Security and alarm services, ( inc: fire appliance services, lock-smiths, etc.)
  • Ground works (inc. arboricultural works, sports pitches, playground equipment, landscaping, etc)
  • Construction related works to housing and non-housing properties (both Internal and External)
  • Engineering services (inc. mechanical, electrical, plumbing, catering equipment, lifts etc)
  • Miscellaneous: French polishing, sign making, accommodation services etc
  • Disabled Adaptations and Associated Works

It is the intention that the Approved Lists may be made available to other local authorities and public sector organisations that join at a later date. Applicants’ details may also be made available to local residents, or large contractors requiring sub-contractors.

If you have any queries concerning the scheme the answers may already be found in the frequently asked questions (faq) page on the web-site. If the answer to the question cannot be found on the faq page go to the contact page and submit an enquiry to the administrator.

The about page will provide details on the scheme.

The links page is there to provide useful information to both contractors and residents on statutory organisations and professional bodies. Contractors may want to view this page before proceeding with their application form.

The Application form is preceded with the criteria that will be used in the assessment process. Before you commence entering details onto the electronic application form it is suggested that you have details of your insurance policies and other certificates to hand as you will be required to enter policy/registration numbers and expiry dates. Where possible supporting documentation can be e-mailed to the systems administrators once the application form has been accepted - you will receive an e-mail acknowledgement containing a reference number that you can respond to (either electronically or through the post).
